MY APPROACH

Collaborative. I’ve had the opportunity to study and work in the field of psychology for more than a decade; but, you know yourself better than I ever could. Together we’ll come up with a plan to create the change that you want to see in your life and I’ll check in with you regularly to ensure we are on the right track.

Caring. I became a psychologist, not for fame or fortune, but because I wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of others and to have genuine connections with people. Parents, teachers, friends, and people I'm not even aware of have cared enough to help me along my path and I want to do the same for you. I love the work that I do and feel honored to be able to accompany each of my clients in their process of change.

Curious. All of us have done the best we can to deal with issues that have arisen in our lives. I find that when we can look at these things with curiosity, non-judgement, and compassion change and growth happen faster.

Conscientious. I respect the time and resources that my clients set aside to work with me. While I don't want to rush you, I also don’t believe you need to be in therapy endlessly. I make an effort to stay informed about the most evidence-based treatment options that I can offer through continuing education and my work as a professor.

Creative. Not only am I a psychologist but I specialize in art therapy. The process of making art can be healing in and of itself but it can also be used as an avenue to express ourselves in a way words can’t. I don’t always suggest art therapy for clients but I like to keep a creative, playful, and flexible approach to all of the work that I do.
